Journal of Telematics and Informatics (e-ISSN: 2303-3703, p-ISSN: 2303-3711) is an interdisciplinary journal of original research and writing in the wide areas of telematics and informatics. Abstract

The coal is combustion fuel of power plant which is located in Indramayu West Java. Power plant has produce coal dust during combustion process. Moreover, the residu of coal dust has potentially self combustion which damage or could explosived arround the environment. To addressing this situation, detection and controlling combustion dust is needed. To avoid this situation, a prototype devices which able to control combustion dust is proposed. The prototype has comprises of processing signal which controlling by Arduino microcontroller and sensed by MQ2 sensor for flammable gas and MQ135 for CO2 sensor, and Sharp GP2Y1010AU0F for dust sensor.These sensor are detected combustion dust, if the level more than set level then springkle will spray the water. The reading point value of sensors transmitted on to thingspeak IoT could server, which of sensor are consist of methane, gas, CO2, and dust. These value has monitored and able to conduct for controlling the combustion dust. The evaluation shows that the value of sensors are able to delivered as well and the relay as able to activated whenever level of combustion is above.

Abstract

Generally, thermostat is used to control temperature manually. However, unstability temperature has rises during egg hatching proces operates. It’s coverage more than 38,2 0C and cannot automated controlled. Therefore, egg hatch temperature should be controlled to avoid the damage of eggs and sensor. To addresing this limitation, fuzzy logic based algorithm is proposed with arduino and DHT 11 are uses which controlled temperature is stabilizer. During experimentally setup, the result shows that using fuzzy logic and arduino is able to perform good controller of egg hatching machine. The productivity of egg becoming poultry is rises 92%. Experimental shows that, by wading 20 egg in hatching machine, the prototype device able to stabilized temperature in 15 minutes into 37-38,2 0C.

Abstract

To maintain quality of goods among shipment process, monitoring and controlling is performed. Moreover, position of the vehicles is performed by GPS tracking. However, conventional monitoring and controlling temperature and humidity is done manually.  Moreover, inaccurate measurement during shipment process is affected to the goods quaity especially for goods and beverages packets. Inaccurate tracking has contributed as one factor which causes vehicle lost in control. To addressing these limitation, integrating shipment process such as temperature, humidity, tracking and tracking system are proposed based on Internet of Things (IoT). The systems are conducted by uses Arduino Uno, RFID MFRC522, GPS Neo6M, DHT11 dan RTC DS1307. The system performance has monitored humidity and temperature properly and bus range tracking system is conducted using Neo6M based on IoT. Data measurement result are delivered onto Clouduino over Internet network at any time. Therefore realtime measurement and tracking are visualized onto Web using API Google Maps. The performance result shows that within two experiment treatments, such as static and mobility measurements, the propose system are performed well. In static measurements, the average interval value of the data transmission time is 5,75 seconds from the designed interval value of 5 seconds, the average value of the deviation from the interval of data transmission time is 0,75 seconds, and the average delay time between data transmission and reception is 0,3 seconds. While at dinamic measurements, the average interval value of the data transmission time is 6.22 seconds from the designed interval value of 5 seconds, the average value of the deviation from the interval of data transmission time is 1.22 seconds, and the average delay time between data transmission and reception is 2.31 seconds.

Abstract

In this paper an Improved Particle Swarm Optimization (IPSO) algorithm is proposed   to solve the optimal reactive power Problem. In order to overcome the drawbacks of standard genetic algorithm (GA)  and particle swarm optimization (PSO) , some improved mechanisms based on non-linear ranking selection, competition and selection among several crossover offspring and adaptive change of mutation scaling are adopted in the genetic algorithm, & dynamical parameters are adopted in PSO. The new population is produced through three approaches to improve the global optimization performance, which are elitist strategy, PSO strategy and enhanced genetic algorithm strategy. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm has been compared with Gas and PSO, synthesizing a circular array, a linear array and a base station array. In order to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed algorithm, it has been tested in standard IEEE 118 & practical 191 bus test systems and compared other algorithms.  Simulation results show that real power loss considerably reduced and control variables are within the limits.

Abstract

Color detector using TCS3200 that can help the independence of the blind category of low vision in daily life and help improve children’s enthusiasm for learning colors early age. Creation tool TCS3200 color detection is based on the large number of persons with special needs, so this tool can be independent again in everyday life, esppecially on matters relating to the colors. The method used is a model of research and development, starting from planing concept and manufacture of hardware product design to final testing tools as well as the customization tools. The results show that the prototype device is able to conduct perform color detector recognize by voice. Abstract

Freshwater and energy scarce are now becoming most important issues worldwide. Freshwater or potable water is the most important for human life. The rapid growth of population and industrialization contribute on the freshwater scarce. Conventional energy such as fossil fuel faces the similar trend with freshwater scarce since it is not renewable. The price of conventional energy is increased along with the scarcity. Desalination techniques have been developed for decades to be alterative way in providing freshwater. The desalination processes are driven by energy either thermal, mechanical and electricity.Efficiency for desalination system using simulation/Matlab, driven by renewable energy has derived great attention from scholars and engineer worldwide to get over freshwater need and energy issues. One of major concern in this field is to develop low cost desalination system that driven by renewable energy.

Abstract

Human needs of technology and the availability of adequate infrastructure are evidences that the technology currently becomes part of the human beings’ basic necessities. Growing multitude of journals and scientific papers makes choosing and sorting become more selective though there have been many online journals service providers and portals. Research on search engines, plagiarism and recommendation system has been carried out with various methods to improve the performance of the system itself, this paper aims to calculate similarities between one article with other articles by implementing n-gram and tanimoto cosine. The number of articles tested were forty-three titles and abstracts, tests  were carried fifty times with random selected keywords, by separating each sentences of the title and abstract into n characters (n = 2) including spaces and punctuation, then calculating similarity to the query or keywords used to test the system. Testing was done using several variation of the thresholds. After observing the fifty times-testings, the threshold value of 0.30, produced accuracy = 0.86, precision = 0.37 and recall = 0.44.

Abstract

Nowadays security is a vital issue in our day to day life. In the current world, crime becomes increasing and people want to secure their asset at their house. In this situation, an owner wants an advance technology so that he doesn’t worry about the assets when he doesn’t present in his house. Using wireless technologies and a good user-friendly interface make the home safety system more attractive. This paper deliberates a simple but very effective technique which will be applied to home security. SMS (Short Messaging System) based security box reduce the rate of the crime and secure our assets. The box is designed in such a way that when someone except the owner opens the box it will send an SMS to the owner mobile using the GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) module. Main motive about this paper is to make a low-cost security box but its benefit will be high.

Abstract

The greedy algorithm is one of the simplest algorithms to solve the optimization problem. The greedy algorithm is able to solve the problem quickly. Greedy Reduction game is a game of mathematical reduction that uses the theory of greedy algorithm in the process of determining the player's victory in playing the game. Players who play this game have to answer the problem by solving the reduction operation with subtracting the number by selecting available numbers on the game, until it reaches the specified number of questions. Players will either win the game or produce a serial number if the numbers the player chooses to subtract fewer numbers from the numbers used by greedy. Tests conducted on this research is to use black box testing method. Based on the tests performed, greedy algorithm can be applied in solving the existing problems in Greedy Reduction game.

Abstract

A comfortable activity in of a room is depended on environment. Temperature and humidity is considered that greatly affect the air condition performance. This study aimed to design and built a prototype air cooling controller, namely the fan, so it can control the speed of the fan according to conditions of temperature and humidity. This research uses arduino uno R3 microcontroller and the of DHT 22 sensor to detect temperature and humidity of room and PIR sensor to detect human presence in the room. Sugeno fuzzy logic method is used to take the decision which is processed by microcontroller. That an test is done by manual calculation, matlab simulation and prototype testing. The results shows the averaged accuracy of temperature testing is 3.89%, while range is 1.99% and average humidity accuracy 3.21%, range is 2.49%. the system is able to control the fan of cooling fan autamatically accordances to the desired rules based on fuzzy logic.
